PILATES CLASSES with Majella McCartan 

Majella is a very experienced Pilates and Aerobics Instructor, Personal Trainer and Trainer of the Trainers. Her students appreciate her warmth and humour, but she is also noted for being fairly tough. Don’t come to these classes if you don’t want to work-out and get fit!! 

Majella has two classes each week - the Beginners Class is on a Thursday night and run in blocks of six weeks. Students are expected to book in advance for this and complete all six weeks sf the course. if you come to all six classes in a block we will give you ticket for a free Yoga or Pilates class.

After completing the Beginners Class you may be advised to progress to the General class which is on a Tuesday night.

Both Beginners and General classes are at 7.30 - 9.00pm

Individual Annual Membership comprises 48 tickets which can be used at any class without prior booking plus 1 private class, together with discounts on Workshops and Courses.  You can now also buy a family membership.

A strong core means a strong body!

Pilates will give you the feeling of standing taller and sitting with better posture, you will feel legnthened and strengthened, rejuvinated and refreshed. 

These Classes build on the work of the Beginners level classes and are intended to be progressively more challenging. 

In these classes Majella increasingly emphasises the importance of concentration to understand where each part of the body is positioned. She will build on the basics learned in the beginners class and take students to a deeper level of understanding, by moving fluidly and seamlessly through the Pilates practices.

The modern version of Pilates helps students to develop controlled movement and a strong core, strength and flexibility through a series of stretching and balancing exercises. Contemporary floor based Pilates often uses props, including small weighted balls, foam rollers, large exercise balls, rotating disks, and resistance bands, enabling people to enjoy the method without full studio equipment.
